It’s been four years since then, and the first image published of Vice President Joe Biden has been widely misinterpreted. The photo has been used by Trump and his supporters to suggest Biden is a “racist,” to suggest he is a man of money, to suggest he hasn’t been taking care of his “old”-age, and to suggest he could pose a serious threat to the nation, should he ever decide to run for president.
Biden is in good shape for an 80-year-old, according to the latest data from the Mayo Clinic (via Politico):
He is still active and engaged — walking every day. He enjoys biking and running. And he still eats and exercises.
“I don’t think anybody would argue that he’s in good health,” Mayo Clinic general practitioner Dr. George Amado said. “But there is certainly no reason to think that he isn’t healthy — in fact, it would be a reasonable assumption that Mr. Biden is in very, very good health.”
In fact, he looks and is performing better than any other man in the history of the U.S., as a result of his age, according to his most recent annual physical. On July 10, 2018, Biden underwent a colonoscopy and a kidney test to ensure he’s in good physical health.
A couple weeks later, after President Donald Trump’s most recent tweet about Biden, his doctor came out to confirm the accuracy of the Mayo Clinic assessment, as he wrote:
