L.A. rapper Blueface arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Las Vegas
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles rapper Blueface has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder in Las Vegas.
Police said he was booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon after beating a man and throwing him on the floor in a Las Vegas hotel.
Blueface’s real name is Tony D. Williams. He has previously been arrested on assault charges during fights with fans in clubs in Las Vegas, Texas and California.
Blueface’s lawyer, Peter Ueberroth, said he’ll fight the charges and asked fans to call the L.A. County district attorney’s office to report him to the court. A call to L.A. District Attorney Jackie Lacey’s office was not immediately returned.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that three men had to be hospitalized after being beaten Sunday night at a club where Blueface had taken part in a concert. In addition to the assault, Blueface allegedly hit a club employee with his hand, and another man was struck with an iron rod while he was trying in vain to free a club employee who had been handcuffed.
The newspaper also reported that police were looking for Blueface’s friend and bandmate, rapper and model Lil Wayne.
Blueface’s manager, Jeff Meldrum, said Blueface called him around 10:30 p.m. from the club and said he had been arrested.
